What I'm Loving , Hating and Wanting

So lets start with what Im loving , I have to be honest I'm loving a lot at the moment so here we go:

*L'Oreal Super Liner in black. This is so different from all the liquid liners I've used ( and that's a lot). The main thing that makes me love this is the applicator , its sponge like but the shape is perfect for lining also the flexibility makes it follow the edge of your eye perfectly , its virtually mistake proof for me . The only thing I would say is that it isn't a flat black liner it has some sparkle. But I love that as I think it breaks up the harshness of a flat black line you can sometimes get when only wearing liquid liner.

*MAC Love Lorn Lipstick. This is described as an "emotive blue pink" it looks quite bold in the tube but it is a lustre so gives a slightly sheer buildable finish.I bought this as I wanted a dupe for MACs Pink Fish tinted Lip Conditioner. Its close but pink fish is slightly lighter. I've been wearing this with Sugar Rimmed Dazzleglass as it makes it more wearable for daytime( im really not that daring ).

*NARS Orgasm Blush. everyone's like yeah yeah , what's new like we haven't heard about this one before. But I do really love it I can definitely see why its everyone's cult favourite it really works on every skin tone. Its a perfect peachy/coral with gold shimmer. I've been wearing everyday for about 2 weeks solid and I'm not bored yet.

*MAC Satin Taupe Eyeshdow. This is one of the most flattering eye shadow's for olive skinned people (NC 37+) I'm not saying other skin tones can't wear this at all ,I just think every olive skinned person should own it. MAC describes it as a Taupe brown with silvery bronze shimmer, so pretty . Its a colour I don't have to think about I just apply it and go. Recently I've just been applying it all over my lid blending slightly towards the edge of my eyebrow creating a very blended winged effect and finally smudging it across my lower lash line . Paired with black Liner it looks awesome.

And very briefly some honourable mentions, Sugarrimmed Dazzlegalss, Mac Gentle Mineralize Blush, Gosh Darling Lipstick and Casino Bronzer.

What I'm Hating..

So there I am at work one sunny Saturday and I'm looking at the NO7 eyeliners , I've always thought they looked good and I'm just overhearing the NO7 consultant do the hard sell tactic and I'm sold , so I buy the black "Amazing eyes pencil" ... well I think I can honestly say its the worst eyeliner I've ever used, Ok it smudges but that's about its only redeeming feature and you tend to forget that that's the only good point when you look like a racoon 4 hours after applying. It also refuses to apply to the water line and when it does its very faint. Lastly because it is so soft it needs sharpening constantly but of course the softness always means it gets stuck to the inside of the sharpener. So all in all not a good experience. I haven't tried the other colours but I'm not that up for wasting £7.50  in the name of experimenting, I'd much rather go and buy a MAC one. Has anyone ever tried the NO7 eye liners if so what did you think ?

My wish List ...**sigh**
*Benetint, I bought this for my aunty for her birthday and she let me try some , and gosh I'm in love . really is the most gorgeous red lip stain. since its a stain its not too bold which I'm all for. I tried it on my cheeks too and love it there as well.
*Dolce Vita NARS blush, Only for the description "dusty rose" just sounds so damn pretty
*Myth Lipstick.Because I do not currently own a true nude lipstick and lots of people rave about this one.
*Coney Island Cotton Candy OPI nail Polish, Purely because the colour has been likened to that of the Christian Laboutin nude pump.
* A lilac lipstick , I have no make preference here I just want a good one so if anyone has any suggestions please let me no.

What are your loves , hates and wants?

Everyday make-up , Contest Entry for TheCurrentCustom

Since I'm still at school my quick go-to everyday make up has to be simple. My favourite look is natural , golden and glowy with black liquid liner on the top lash line. Sound familiar?.. I take make-up inspiration from Lauren Conrad I absolutely love her make-up.

This has got to be one of my favourites. Flawless sunkissed glowing complexion , peachy/pink cheeks , dark liner and long full lashes.
Now I'm not blonde in fact I'm brunette with olive skin so it obviously doesn't look the same ,  but these make-up techniques look beautiful on everyone.

So to get the glowing sun-kissed complexion I start with a good foundation, There are two that I'm currently rotating the first being NARS sheer Glow. I got matched at a NARS counter in Space NK in February so the colour is a little pale but I seriously love this foundation. It says its made for dry to extra dry skin but I have oily and I haven't notice any bad side effects , the foundation glides on smoothly and gives a medium buildable coverage. It lasts for about 6-7 hours depending if I've used a base and a set powder. I don't usually uses a set powder as I like the glowing finish of the foundation and I hate looking cakey. I am definatly going to be picking this foundation up in a shade darker so I can continue using it into the summer, just a lil FYI I use the shade Deauville Light 4.

The second foundation I am loving is the new Revlon Photoready , I was immediately attracted to this when I heard there were glitter particles within the foundation , I must admit i was a little sceptical as I didn't fancy looking like a vampire , or a disco ball for that matter ,but it was cheap so bought it anyway. The shade I picked up was natural beige since I didn't want to get too light and look like a ghost but not to dark that It would look like a spray tan gone bad . It is so much darker than "Deauville light4" I wondered if my "err on thr side of caution" approach had gone a little far. I first applied it with my fingers and surprisingly it looked fine, the colour was maybe a smidge dark but it didn't look stupid and besides I can where it in the summer now. It gives a good medium buildable coverage like the NARS and it lasts a fair amount of time I'd say about 5-6 hours without touch-ups. The glitter is unnoticeable indoors I only noticed that my face was in fact glittering when I was checking it in a compact mirror in direct sunlight, I haven't gotten any comments from anyone so I don't think its too drastic just enough to give you a glow . I have been favouring this foundation because of that reason and because the colour makes me look a little sun-kissed .

Usually I only bother with concealer if I've had a late/rough night and with the odd blemish but recently I've been using Bobbi Brown creamy concealer everyday under my eyes and I have to say I've been loving the results. Bigger, wider and more awake eyes. This concealer is amazing it has good coverage and goes on like a dream also it never looks cakey. The shade I use is Natural in case anyone is wondering.

Moving on to cheeks , I rarely bother with set powder so I move straight on to bronzer and blush. I contour with NARS casino bronzer in the E3 motion but instead of going on top of my cheekbones I bring the colour into the hollow to chizel out my cheekbones. I only do it roughly with a round fluffy brush this way you look natural yet contoured. Now to add some colour I use the same fluffy brush and dust a little NARS Orgasm on to the apples of my cheeks. The key to this look is to have a light hand and blend the colours well , its easier to add more blush than take it away.

Last but by no means least eyes, I always do my eyes last I feel i'm saving the best till last . I am addicted to black eye-liner and I have two signature looks it depends what kind of mood i'm in and what i'm wearing. I have a girly feminine eye with slightly winged out liquid liner on top and a pretty peachy/sandy neutral lid ( all that glitters from mac) with nothing but mascara on bottom.Or a more smudgy smoked out look where I roughly line all the way around my eyes with a brown pencil and smudge it out , I then go in with a brown eyeshadow to set it lastly I use black pencil eye-liner to line the water lines and top lash line then finish off with the best mascara in the world plush lash from MAC. It looks emmense and I feel very rocker chick when wearing this.
Oh I forgot to mention that I always use barestudy paint pot for both looks ,its just a pretty shimmery champagne colour.

This is just an example of the sort of smokey smudged out look I enjoy wearing , which looks gorgeous on Diane Kruger here .

And just for good measure an example of the cat eye.

although there are a lot of steps I hate looking over made up so my holy grail tip is too blend like you life depends on it . I hope this was interesting to read , this is the kind of stuff I tend to read on peoples blogs, If you have any questions comments please don't hestitate to comment

Favourite Combination Of the moment ....

I am absolutely loving All That Glitters and sketch together at the moment , I have been wearing it constantly with varying degrees of drama depending on the occasion. I put All That Glitters all over the lid and sketch on the outer corner and halfway into the crease , for more dramatic looks I create the "wedge" shape and blend that into the outer corner too , and if you want to go crazy why not add some carbon for a smokey sultry look.

Do you have any eye-shadow combos that you couldn't live with out??
p.s would anyone like a tutorial of this look ?
